Peaks & Parking Lots

本文记录了作者病愈后独自徒步登山的全过程,涵盖通过观察动植物构建自然认知地图的学习方法,以及在陡峭地形中保持三点接触、敬畏山野风险的安全实践。
构建自然认知地图
Over the last 3 or 4 years, I've been trying to do this thing where when I go out hiking or camping, I try to take a photo of a plant that I don't know yet or a bird or something that I can't identify yet.
And then when I get back to, you know, service and Wi Fi, I can figure out what it is and over time I built like a little bit of a mental map of the flora and fauna and birds and things around. It's probably a very incomplete map.
陡坡攀爬安全准则
I'm trying to keep three points of contact at all times and taking really precise slow steps because at the end of the day, I'm by myself on the edge of a cliff, and the mountain doesn't care if I've been here before or if I'm comfortable. Really slow, really precise. Precise. Precise. No rush here.
